THE BRIEF: Rudie Nudie was a new to market brand that creates designer waterproof playmats, making nappy-free time fun and easy for babies and mums. Griffin Grace helped bring this brand to life from its grassroots using colour, brand, pattern design and packaging. The baby goods space is extremely competitive and can be overwhelming for new parents. We needed to create a clear point of difference and distinctive offering to simplify choice for the shopper. The brand had to be innovative, clever and fun.
THE SOLUTION: In order to become a distinct designer brand we devised a symbol that became the bespoke pattern featured on the flagship playmat. The Kiss Hug icon is expanded upon from the detailing of the Masterbrand. Rudie Nudie is a playful brand so we brought it to life in a world of colour and creation, reflected in our design of the first two playmat artworks.
When it came to the packaging we wanted to let the unique designs on the playmats take precedence so we kept the boxes minimalist and simple. Rudie Nudie aims to be the go-to item for new mums and baby shower gifts; 6 months in the market and the first order has already sold out.
