AI POLICY

Version 1.0 | Reviewed annually or as required in response to significant changes in technology or regulation.

AI is becoming a standard part of modern creative workflows. At Griffin Grace, we believe in using these tools thoughtfully, without compromising authorship, judgement or the value of human-led decision-making.

This policy outlines how AI may be used within our brand strategy and packaging design process.

Our Approach

Griffin Grace is a strategy-led studio. Our work relies on experience, taste and commercial judgement. AI may assist parts of our workflow, but it does not independently generate creative outcomes or replace human responsibility.

How We Use AI

AI may be used as a support tool in areas such as:

  • Research and information gathering
  • Process optimisation and internal efficiency
  • Automation built into trusted platforms (for example invoicing or scheduling tools)
  • Production assistance through features already embedded in professional design software

These uses are always guided, reviewed and controlled by Griffin Grace.

How We Do Not Use AI

We do not use AI to:

  • Generate logos, brand identities or packaging concepts
  • Produce final creative outcomes without human authorship
  • Train AI systems using client work or Griffin Grace intellectual property

All strategic and creative decisions remain human-led.

What We Expect From Our Clients

To ensure clarity, trust and proper use of intellectual property, we ask clients to work with us in the following way:

a. No unauthorised AI use of our work

Strategy documents, concepts, designs, artwork and final deliverables created by Griffin Grace must not be uploaded to AI platforms, used to train AI systems, or modified using AI tools without prior written permission.

b. Discuss AI use upfront

If your internal team, contractors or external partners plan to use AI tools in relation to the project (including briefing, concept development, copy adaptation, image modification or rollout), this should be raised early so expectations are aligned.

c. Respect authorship and decision-making

Our work is grounded in human judgement and accountability. Using AI to recreate, extend or reinterpret Griffin Grace work without discussion can compromise quality, intent and brand consistency.

d. Share any AI restrictions

If your organisation has rules that prohibit AI use entirely, or requires specific disclosures, please let us know at the briefing stage so we can work within those parameters.

Transparency & Consent

If AI tools are used in a way that materially affects deliverables, usage rights or client expectations, this will be discussed openly. If a client has specific requirements or restrictions around AI use, these should be raised at the briefing stage.

Why This Matters

AI tools make it easy to alter or repurpose creative work quickly, sometimes without considering long-term brand impact or intellectual property rights. Used carelessly, they can also shortcut thinking and blur authorship.

ย

Our approach is to embrace innovation without eroding trust, quality or creative integrity. This policy exists to ensure clarity, confidence and aligned expectations as work moves from concept through to market.
